e4 — tools in higher Education for an Embodied & creative Energy Education

On 28 April, took place in Brixen the kick-off meeting of the E4 higher Educational tools for an Embodied & creative Education on Energy project, funded under the European Erasmus Plus programme.

The project aims at creating materials and environments (including a network between academic institutions and external stakeholders working for or in the energy of the future) for training teachers in a narrative and imaginative approach to science teaching and learning that fosters creativity and the use of “tools of imagination”.

Present at the meeting were the project partners: University of Bolzano (coordinator of the project), ESCIENCIA (Spain), Universidad de Valencia (Spain), SITES (Ireland), Uniwersytet Mikolaja Kopernika W Toruniu (Poland), UNIMORE (Italy), Dublin City University (Ireland) and InEuropa (Italy).

The meeting opened with a description and sharing of the objectives of the project, and continued with the illustration of the implementation methods and activities, which include the creation of guidelines for the formation of a network between academic institutions and public/private partnerships, the creation of an “Imaginative Course”-Curriculum for teaching through imaginative tools and an interactive web platform to support the Curriculum and the Network.

Finally, the partners discussed the ways to achieve the project’s results, the main one being the increasing of skills in primary and secondary school teachers.

The meeting has been an opportunity to finally meet face-to-face after a long and complex project phase carried out at a distance.

This first gathering laid the foundations for future project activities. Among them, the first online meeting was scheduled for 30 May.
